"I am running for East Greenwich Town Council because our community is at a pivotal moment. East Greenwich residents are facing another year of property tax increases that exceed the state legislative cap, while town expenditures continue to outpace revenues, raising concerns about our community’s long-term fiscal stability. At the same time, avoidable delays in the school construction project resulted in the loss of valuable State of Rhode Island Pay-Go funding.
I also share the concerns of many residents about the cumulative impact of recent land use and development decisions that are changing the character of our neighborhoods, placing greater demands on our infrastructure, and affecting the quality of life that has long made East Greenwich such a special place in which to live and raise a family.
My goal is to help ensure East Greenwich meets the challenges ahead through effective governance, fiscal discipline, and principled leadership. Drawing on more than three decades of executive experience in Rhode Island state government, I understand how to navigate the complexities of municipal and state government, build consensus, and deliver meaningful results.
If elected, I will apply my expertise in public sector leadership, project management, and fiscal oversight to strengthen accountability, improve transparency, and ensure taxpayer dollars are invested wisely. I am committed to asking the difficult questions, protecting the character of our neighborhoods from overdevelopment, and making thoughtful, responsible decisions that serve the long-term interests of East Greenwich residents and businesses.
Holding an MBA in Healthcare Management from Bryant College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from Massachusetts College of Art, I bring a unique combination of business expertise, strategic leadership, and innovative problem-solving. Over the course of a 34-year career in Rhode Island state government, I have led complex regulatory and operational initiatives at the Rhode Island Department of Health, and I presently serve as the Associate Director of the Rhode Island State Building Code Commissioner’s Office. These leadership roles have equipped me with the experience to navigate complex challenges, manage public resources with integrity and fiscal responsibility, and deliver practical, effective solutions that advance the best interests of the community.”
“I am running for Town Council because East Greenwich deserves thoughtful leadership, balanced decision-making, and careful oversight as we navigate challenges that will shape our community for decades. The $150M school construction project requires transparency and accountability to ensure taxpayers receive the greatest value for their investment. I will use my extensive engineering and program management experience to help oversee East Greenwich’s most consequential municipal spending initiative in a generation.
My commitment to East Greenwich is already evident through hands-on service. As a member of the East Greenwich Affordable Housing Commission, I have worked to balance responsible development with the need to preserve our town’s unique character. I strongly believe we must regain local control over planning and zoning so that growth reflects the needs and character of our community. I have also coached EG Flag Football, volunteered on crews cleaning up our town’s historic cemeteries, and donated my time to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island, supporting veterans in need. These efforts reflect the same values I will bring to Town Council: community-first leadership, respect for our history and neighborhoods, and a willingness to roll up my sleeves and serve.
I have lived in East Greenwich with my family since 2013. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, I served as a Submarine Officer for over 21 years at duty stations in seven states and finished my military career as Deputy Commander of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. During my Navy career, I earned two master’s degrees in Leadership & Management and Government Policy and taught graduate courses at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. Today, I am a Project Manager for a large defense contractor working to deliver a four-billion-dollar submarine on time and on budget.
Successful governance depends on proactive leadership, transparency, and a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. If elected, I will bring the same accountability and results-driven approach that have guided my military and professional career to Town Hall. My priority will be ensuring that East Greenwich delivers on its commitments, respects taxpayers, and approaches every challenge with the careful planning our community deserves."
"As an East Greenwich resident and the parent of a teenage daughter who has attended East Greenwich Public Schools since first grade, I am deeply invested in the success of our schools and the future of our community.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, bringing a unique combination of business, financial, and healthcare experience to this role. I currently work as a pediatric nurse at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where I care for children and support families during some of their most challenging moments. This experience has strengthened my commitment to advocating for children, listening to families, and making thoughtful, informed decisions.
I believe every child deserves access to an excellent education, a safe and supportive learning environment, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. I support strong literacy foundations, including providing students with more opportunities to read complete works that strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for learning. I also believe we should reduce unnecessary screen use in the classroom, including limiting overreliance on Chromebooks, so students have more opportunities for hands-on learning, reading, writing, and direct engagement with their teachers and peers.
I also believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at school. Bullying continues to be an important concern raised by families in our community, and these concerns deserve to be taken seriously. I am committed to supporting policies that ensure bullying reports are addressed promptly, investigated fairly, and handled with accountability, transparency, and compassion.
If elected, I will bring a focus on fiscal responsibility, transparency, accountability, and collaboration. I will work with families, educators, administrators, and the community to make decisions that prioritize students while being responsible stewards of taxpayer resources. My goal is to help strengthen the East Greenwich school system and ensure it continues to provide an outstanding education for current and future generations."
